This trip is to organize to celebrate the 30th birthday of my 5 friends; they are Dinah, Liling, Lizhi, Meiyan and Yenwei.
It was being discussed from the way back in Dec 2007 when we were first thinking to do something extra this year. At first, we were thinking of maybe a nite stay in Rasa Sentosa, or a nite stay in one of the hotels with a nice dinner. However, just when we finish celebrating Dinah precious girl BD, it just came to our mind that why not we go abroad??
Since I am the only one whom is not 30 yet =) I have been nominated to organize for this trip; from rackie the different agencies till sourcing for the resorts in Bintan, and also to decide on the number of days there…
After few meetings with all the busy, busy friends, we settled on Mayang Sari that best suits the budget and the date to depart. We set the date on 1st November, sat.

At 1210pm, we set depart on the ferry at Tanah Merah Terminal. At first, it was rocky but maybe becos we were too excited having all of us on board. The journey took about less than an hour.

Our first meal was at the Spice restaurant located at the lobby of resort itself. The restaurant serves Indonesian and Indian cuisine. To our surprise, the food there is nice and not that spicy as I thought.

After the lunch, I changed into my shorts and we run to the beach just before out resort. Nice breeze is the first thing that welcomes me and not to mention the sunny weather. Well… that’s what a beach resort should be!

We went on to search for spa and massage place. We landed up in Pasar Oleh Oleh which is about 20mins car ride from our resort. Abit ulu and deserted. The massage place was a bit rundown and we were abit scared of the services and are we being conned? Lucky for us, the masseuses are great with the right force and they were friendly. All of us picked the “Bintan Relax” with 1 hr massage and 1 hr scrub.
Not knowing that the island is still celebrating Halloween, we went to the Beach Club. Had fun with all the devils and demons there…

The next day, after breakfast, we immediately dashed into the sea. I was being tempted and went into the sea. Managed to see jellyfish in real life and some unknown school of fishes swimming and jumping out of the water! What a sight! Guess unless I go to other more fantastic beaches, this is still an eye opening for me.
We ended our trip with a nice and cooling coconut. Yenwei and i thinking of going back again some other time but try out different resorts. This time I will spend more days and take more scenic pictures!
